Knock, knock! Who鈥檚 there? Why, it鈥檚 Death! One of America鈥檚 hottest young playwrights gives the 15th century morality play a much-needed lift of theatrical whimsy. Everybody offers a darkly comedic twist on the meaning of life, death, and all that lies between when Death summons a character called 鈥淓verybody鈥 to their inevitable fate. Everybody needs to give an accounting of their life and desperately searches among everyone and everything in the hopes of finding a companion along life鈥檚 final journey.

William Shakespeare鈥檚 classic comedy unfolds fast and furiously in this abridged one-act version, trimmed to the story鈥檚 very essence. When Hermia and Lysander decide to elope, Demetrius, who is also in love with Hermia, follows with his wanna-be girlfriend, Helena. But a magical interference by the king and queen of the fairies results in hysterical mixed-up pairings. In the end, all the couples are brought back together for a happy ending, complete with a final performance by Peter Quince and his company of players.

The Laramie Project presents a deeply complex portrait of a community鈥檚 response to the 1998 murder of Matthew Shepard, a young gay man living in Laramie, Wyoming. This is a verbatim docudrama that is based on over 400 interviews that members of the Tectonic Theater Project recorded when they visited the town of Laramie. In a series of poignant reflections, the residents react to the hate crime and surrounding media storm with anger, bewilderment and sorrow. The play portrays the seismic and deeply personal impact Matthew鈥檚 death had on this small town while also demonstrating the power of the human spirit to triumph over bigotry and violence.

This poignant and funny play explores one woman鈥檚 ordinary life, following the changes that happen on her birthdays from her teen years to old age. On her 17th birthday, Ernestine Ashworth agonizes over her insignificance in the universe. As she bakes her birthday cake, we see how the small moments of heartbreak and love make up the richness of her life and makes the audience consider what makes meaning in their own lives.

Through over 200 interviews, this play centers stories about vaginas that range from happy, to sad, to angry, to confused; are all spoken in an effort to empower women. This play explores many topics: sex, relationships, sexual violence, sex work, menstruation, and more, and we get to meet women from all corners of the world who have very different lives, This work joins the cause for female empowerment and the end of violence against girls and women.
