Opened in 2006, New Hall is centrally located, in close proximity to Thomas Library, in addition to the student center. New Hall is co-ed and houses a Ubuntu Themed Living Community. Students enjoy the flexibility of various meeting spaces and room sizes, the connectedness of the community, and convenience in an air-conditioned space.
Located on North Fountain Avenue, next to the Benham-Pence Student Center and the Joseph C. Shouvlin Center for Lifelong Learning, The Hagen Center was established in 2008 and endowed by Susan Hirt Hagen in 2011.
Built in 1977, the building was named after Joseph C. Shouvlin, who was a former president of the Baur Brothers Company (a manufacturing company) in Springfield. He worked with President Stoughton to create a center not only for student's academic success, but also for adult success in the workplace.
The Benham-Pence Student Center is located along Alumni Way, next to New Residence Hall, at the corner of Ward Street and Fountain Avenue. The student center is attached to the Joseph P. Shouvlin Center for Lifelong Learning, and both are served by a large parking lot with convenient access on to Ward Street.
Dedicated during Homecoming 2004, the brick plaza includes engraved bricks bearing the names of alumni, faculty and friends of ¹û¶³´«Ã½ selected each year for this honor. A platform stage and dining area offer students a venue for concerts and gatherings.
Krieg Hall was built in 1967 and is located on the south end of ¹û¶³´«Ã½'s campus on Woodlawn Avenue, across from the Benham-Pence Student Center and adjacent to a parking lot with ample space for visitors. The Department of Music was discontinued in 2025, and Krieg Hall was closed at that time.
Services in Keller Place Apartments include air conditioning, electricity, gas, trash pick-up, and water. Buildings feature a common laundry room and parking spaces for tenants only. Each apartment features a fully furnished living room, kitchen, bedrooms, and a private patio.
Located across Alumni Way from New Residence Hall and the Benham-Pence Student Center, Thomas Library was built in 1981 and contains more than 350,000 volumes - with the capacity to hold 500,000 volumes - and more than 2,500 periodicals, which are located in the basement of the building.
Hamma thrived on campus as one of the premier Lutheran theological seminaries until 1978 when it merged with Capital University's Trinity Lutheran Seminary in Columbus, Ohio. After Hamma relocated, Synod served as the location for the humanities on campus prior to the construction of Hollenbeck Hall.
