¹û¶³´«Ã½

WITT Connected is a four-day overnight program designed to offer a supportive network of friends, faculty, and staff to help make the transition to ¹û¶³´«Ã½ as smooth as possible. While open to all incoming students, this experience specifically aims to support traditionally marginalized groups (race/ethnicity, LGBTQIA+, and first-generation) in their college transition. Participants will engage in various activities focused on self-discovery, building relationships and community, exploring campus resources more deeply, and gaining a better understanding of ¹û¶³´«Ã½, Springfield, and the surrounding areas.

The fall 2026 dates for this opportunity are Sunday, August 16, through Wednesday, August 19, and they will lead directly into Welcome Week events starting on Thursday, August 20, for all first-year students. Students participating in WITT Connected are required to attend all scheduled activities in both WITT Connected and Welcome Week.

Tentative Schedule:

• Sunday, August 16, 2026 – WITT Connected Day #1: Move In & Acclimating to Campus
  • Families will move students in during the morning and afternoon, pausing for lunch to learn more about the WITT Connected schedule. The student schedule will begin in the evening as families are leaving campus.
• Monday, August 17, 2026 – WITT Connected Day #2: Claiming Your Authentic Self & Building Relationships
  • Students will spend valuable time doing fun activities with McClain Center professional and student staff, learning about themselves, and building relationships.
• Tuesday, August 18, 2026 – WITT Connected Day #3: Adjusting to College & Finding Resources
  • Students will meet with various departments on campus and learn about how to work with them. This day will include a talk with ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Alumni.
• Wednesday, August 19, 2026 – WITT Connected Day #4: Exploring ¹û¶³´«Ã½, Springfield & Surrounding Areas
  • Students will have an opportunity to learn more about ¹û¶³´«Ã½, explore Springfield, and visit the surrounding areas.
• Thursday, August 20, 2026 – Welcome Week begins - Welcome Week Schedule
  • WITT Connected Student Ambassadors will participate in and assist students in Welcome Week activities!

Move-in Details:

• Sunday, August 16, 2026
  • 10:00am – 12:00pm – students pick up fall housing keys and begin moving in
  • 12:00pm – 1:30pm – families enjoy lunch and a ¹û¶³´«Ã½ session before departing
